Tracy Hawkins

Tracy is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston campus and her Master’s degree in psychiatry at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She has been a nurse since 2007 and has practiced in primary care, geriatrics, women’s health, hospice/palliative care, and home health.

She moved into the realm of psychiatry after realizing she loved understanding someone’s story and how it impacts their view of the world. She has found enthusiasm and purpose in helping those she treats with kindness, empathy, and a determination to find the treatment that can help someone improve their life. She believes in a whole body approach to medicine, paying attention to you as a whole person, including sleep, nutrition, physical health, hormones, and social connectedness. She has a special interest in ADHD, trauma, women’s health, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and insomnia.

Tracy has been coming to the Denver area to enjoy the stunning scenery and lovely people every year for the last 40 years. She is a Texas native and travels back and forth between Colorado and Texas. She plans to move to the Denver area once her son graduates from high school. She is married to her hilarious husband, Caleb, who lives with her and their son in Houston. She has two cats, Ava and Theo, and her dog Freya, a blue heeler. Some of her favorite things are laughing with her family, hiking, and traveling to any place with a good view.
